Combat Tips
For the most part, combat in this game is simple, if you keep a few basic techniques in mind:
1) Look for places where you can fire at targets without giving them a chance to attack you. For targets that can't shoot, standing on an elevated platform or ledge should be sufficient. Or you may want to put water (or dry land, if the target swims) between you and your target when possible.
2) Keep moving. I typically flip to one side or the other while firing, to reduce the odds that anyone will hit me.
3) Shoot from a distance. Even guards with guns sometimes won't return fire if you're far enough away.
4) Find out what triggers the appearance of animals or guards. Often, just hanging from a ledge without even dropping into the room below or something similar will cause guards to appear. If you hang from the ledge and then climb immediately back up, you can attack from above and improve the odds.
