Tomb Raider 2 Hints

I'm in a room full of lava. How do I exit?

  • 1 of 11: First of all, there are several rooms close to where you landed when you came from the rope slide.  Don't waste your time in there, since there's no way past the traps for now.
  • 2 of 11: Where you want to head first is onto a ledge at the top of the main room with all of the lava.
  • 3 of 11: Push a nearby box to enable you to jump high enough to reach it.
  • 4 of 11: There's a switch on that ledge.  Flip it to drop a bridge across a portion of the lava pit running through the middle of this room.
  • 5 of 11: Drop down onto that bridge (or jump from the non-sloped blocks on one edge of the lava pit) to find another switch.
  • 6 of 11: Flip that switch to open a trap door in the lava to one side of the room.
  • 7 of 11: You can jump through this.
  • 8 of 11: Experiment with different ways of jumping.  If you can't figure out how to get through that opening safely, keep reading.
  • 9 of 11: Climb back onto the ledge above the main room.  Take a running jump from the wall overlooking the trap door, and while you're in the air, press the ACTION key.  Lara will move as if she's about to grab onto something, and although there's nothing to grab onto, her path will change enough to enable her to fly through the hole safely.
  • 10 of 11: There will be two switches in the area past this jump.  One opens a door back in the main lava room, and the other disables the traps in this section, allowing you to return to the main room.  Flip both of them.
  • 11 of 11: Then, go through the door in the lava room that you just opened.
