Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation Hints

Do you have any tips for fighting the ninjas I see on this level?

  • 1 of 7: First of all, you should retreat before they get close to you -- their blades can do a lot of damage up-close.  (Note that you will only see any real fighting on your second pass through this level.)
  • 2 of 7: Also, note that you can't do any damage to them while they are swinging their blades -- which they sometimes do when they're waiting for you to get near or when you're otherwise stationary.
  • 3 of 7: If you retreat far enough, you may find that some of the ninjas don't follow you.  And more importantly, they seem to forget about you altogether and stop swinging their blades.  You can even hear the sound of the blades retracting if you listen closely.
  • 4 of 7: For example, you can drop back into the small pit where you first entered this level to hide from the first ninja on the level, and he'll just turn back around to leave you alone.  Shoot him while he's turning his back (and thus not swinging his blade).
  • 5 of 7: I found that the best time to shoot the ninjas was when they were turning back, just after you entered and then left their "territory."  Take a couple of shots, and if necessary, step forward a bit and then step back to repeat the process.  This doesn't always work, but since you'll probably want to retreat anyway, try to see if they leave you alone eventually.  Of course, you should also try shooting while retreating.
  • 6 of 7: They may also leave themselves vulnerable sometimes.
  • 7 of 7: For example, you'll find several ninjas in the main hall heading at you on monkey bars.  Get off the monkey bars (if you're on them) as quickly as possible, and shoot them before they reach you.
