Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation Hints

How can I complete the easy course?

  • 1 of 11: The easy course is pretty much straightforward -- there isn't really anything very deadly, nor are there any real twists and turns.
  • 2 of 11: If you need help, you can generally figure out what to do by letting Von Croy stay ahead of you and watching what he does.  There will be a few places where you can jump ahead of Von Croy, and I'll describe those in the hints that follow.  Note, however, that the following hints will read more like a walkthrough than a hint file, since there aren't many real puzzles here.
  • 3 of 11: Start by following Von Croy into a short passageway and then do jumps across a couple of gaps, climbing a wall in between the two gaps.
  • 4 of 11: You will need to turn to your right after clearing the second gap and take a small fall down.  I found that Lara could gain a bit of time by jumping instead of just falling down, since she doesn't stumble after landing on a jump.
  • 5 of 11: Look to your right again and climb (with ACTION) up to an opening above you. If, for some reason, Von Croy has managed to beat you here by a lot, he'll close the gate, and you'll have to climb the wall to one side to find another way past.  But generally, he'll pause and let you catch up a bit.
  • 6 of 11: Keep heading forward until you reach an open space with what looks to be a drop straight ahead of you.  But instead of going down that drop, turn immediately to your right and stay on the upper ledge until you reach the other side of the room.  (You can climb back out of the pit below if you fall down there.)
  • 7 of 11: When you get to the monkey bars, I actually found it faster not to take them, even though they seem to be part of the "official" solution.  Instead, jump down, and cross the area below the bars on foot.  You can climb the far wall and get to the other end of the room more quickly than you can cross the room on the bars.  If you weren't ahead of Von Croy at this point, you can often pass him here by skipping the bars.
  • 8 of 11: You'll see a few blocks in front of you in the next room.  You can do as Von Croy does, and step to the left of the lowest one and climb it, or for a better time, do a running jump straight ahead as you enter the room to get on top of that block.  (You can't walk up the front face, though, because that side is too slanted.)  From there, climb up to the next block, jump to your left, and then turn left to jump over a few more gaps and reach the exit.
  • 9 of 11: Run forward until you reach a door.  If Von Croy is ahead of you, he'll be waiting for you to open it -- otherwise, you can run right through.
  • 10 of 11: There's a button to the right of the door that you can press to open it, if needed.
  • 11 of 11: Finally, follow the twists and turns past that door.  They will eventually lead you to the iris.
