Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation Hints

How can I kill the mechanical men in this level?

  • 1 of 8: It may not seem like it, but the mechanical men can be attacked -- just not as easily as you might like.
  • 2 of 8: Take a close look at them.
  • 3 of 8: Each one has a giant green diamond in the center of his chest.
  • 4 of 8: It looks kind of like a target to me.
  • 5 of 8: You need to shoot the men directly in the green diamond.  You will hear the men scream in pain if you're successful.  (They will also grunt before swinging their axes at you -- that's not the same sound.)
  • 6 of 8: You can use your crossbow and try to aim with your laser sight, but I found this was generally more trouble that it was worth, since the men moved a little too quickly and erratically for my tastes.
  • 7 of 8: Instead, I pulled out my regular guns and kept shooting.  Every once in a while, Lara seems to be able to hit on target.  Just don't shoot the men when they're too close -- instead, try to get them when they're about one jump's distance away.  Run away or jump back as needed to keep your distance.
  • 8 of 8: One shotgun hit (once I actually was able to hit) was usually good enough. Sometimes, additional shots seemed to be needed, but I can't say if this was because I was confusing the two kinds of grunts or because of some other factor that I can't account for.
