Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation Hints
How can I kill the guards in the throne room?
of 9: Well, believe it or not, they can be killed like pretty much anything else. It just takes heavy firepower or a lot of patience.
of 9: You may want to run for relative safety before trying to fight them.
of 9: Also, be warned that only the guard who's moving seems to be vulnerable. At first, one guard will move around and one will stand still -- I could never kill that second guard while it was still. (It will move around after you've killed the first one, however.)
of 9: Head up the stairs that lead back into the room before the throne room. The door back to the rest of the Palaces will be closed, but the guards won't be able to follow you onto the stairs or down the adjacent hallway.
of 9: From there, you can try attacking them with your weapon of choice. If you position yourself just right, you can get the guards to stay "stuck" in a place where you can hit them but they don't seem to be able to hit you.
of 9: If you can't find such a position, you can always stand near a corner yourself and then do a quick jump back around the corner when you see the guards' shots heading at you. The shots are slow enough that you have time to dodge them.
of 9: While regular ammunition will work, it can take quite a long time.
of 9: I personally liked the crossbow's explosive ammunition here. You don't have to hit a guard dead-on -- you can just aim in the general direction and the blast will still damage the guard. It seems to take about 7 explosive crossbow shots.
of 9: If you have a grenade gun, you can also use the normal or even super grenades to get the job done even faster.
