Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation Hints
Can you give me any general tips for destroying the machine guns?
1 of 9: When you first enter the City of the Dead, you'll see a broken machine gun ahead of you and on a corner to your right. This machine gun won't damage you, but you can experiment with it to see how other machine guns can be destroyed.
2 of 9: You'll want to use a revolver and a laser sight here.
3 of 9: Now, press the LOOK key and use the revolver to shoot the machine gun.
4 of 9: In general, only one spot on the machine guns is vulnerable.
5 of 9: Look for a red triangle on the white cylinder that's usually at the back of the machine gun. The cylinder on the first machine gun you encounter will actually be facing you when you enter the level, but that's only because this particular machine gun is broken. In general, it will be a little more difficult to find out how to get that spot.
6 of 9: The machine gun explodes when you shoot that cylinder. (Using exploding weapons in the general area of the machine gun won't work.)
7 of 9: Note that machine guns will track you if you're in their sight -- and the exploding cylinder will thus be out of your range.
8 of 9: In general, you need to look for some way to sneak past the machine gun so that you stay out of its tracking range.
9 of 9: Do this by letting the machine gun see you, and then head for a nearby wall or other cover, so that the machine gun stops firing on you. Then, try to head around the machine gun under that cover until you have a clear shot at the cylinder, while the machine gun is still pointed where it last was able to see you.
