Destination: Treasure Island Hints
Where can I get some salt around here?
of 14: There's none just lying around for you to take, so think about what might have some salt content.
of 14: How about seawater? There's certainly plenty of that around!
of 14: Go back to the south part of the island and see if any of the seawater is interactive.
of 14: The small pool of water that's one screen east of the idol is.
of 14: Look through your inventory for something to hold the seawater.
of 14: The big, empty helmet that you used to make Silver's parrot some special rum in should work.
of 14: Use it on the small pool of water to take some.
of 14: Now you need to find a way to get the salt out of the water.
of 14: What can get rid of water but not salt?
of 14: How about if the water all boiled away?
of 14: You need a fire that you can use to heat up the helmet and its seawater.
of 14: The fire in Skull Rock is still burning, so you might as well go use it. (Or you can start a fire in the area between the idol and the Flowery Coast.)
of 14: Use the helmet on the fire to get the water boiled away, leaving only salt in the helmet.
of 14: NOTE: Don't try to "disassemble" the helmet to separate it from the salt, or you'll just lose the salt. Instead, use the helmet on the feeder directly.
