How can I follow it?
1 of 9: Click the "go-to" cursor just above the cliff's edge for a clue.
2 of 9: You're going to need to tie a rope somewhere nearby so you can descend safely.
3 of 9: Wave the cursor around the tree's roots until you find an interactive spot.
4 of 9: Then click your rope on it.
5 of 9: It won't work with the grapnel still attached.
6 of 9: So disassemble it in inventory to get your long rope back.
7 of 9: Use that on the roots' interactive spot to bring up another knot-tying puzzle.
8 of 9: In this one, choose top, top, bottom, and top on the four stages where you get choices.
9 of 9: After the rope is secured, click on the "go-to" cursor near the cliff edge to climb down to the Buried Chest area.
