Destination: Treasure Island Hints
How can I make a cannonball mold with the mixture?
of 19: First, put the mixture in the mixture trough.
of 19: Go into the forge building and turn to face the large workspace area.
of 19: The mixture trough is the one that's at the far left end of the workspace.
of 19: Use the mixture on it to get it properly mixed up and ready to use.
of 19: Checking the logbook picture, you'll see that the smith is pouring mold into an empty molding box with a hemispherical model inside it.
of 19: Go back to the workspace area and move an empty molding box onto the three-peg spot near where you're standing.
of 19: Then get the hemispherical model that's on the left and put it inside the molding box.
of 19: That looks right, so get some mixture from the trough and use it on the molding box.
of 19: Then pick up the full molding box and put it on either of the two molding box slots over to the right, next to the bellows.
of 19: Now, you might be tempted to make the other half of your cannonball mold the exact same way. But if you think about it, that won't be right.
of 19: The completed cannonball mold will have to have a hole in it so that molten metal can be poured into it.
of 19: Sure, the hemispherical model has a small hole in its top, but that won't actually make a hole in the mold.
of 19: The hole in the hemispherical model is for you to stick something else into so as to make an actual hole in the mold.
of 19: Look to the right of the pegs where you set up your empty mold boxes to find a conical model.
of 19: You'll need to use it with the hemispherical model in order to make a mold half with a hole in it.
of 19: NOTE: If you've already make both mold halves without holes, pick up one of your full molding boxes and click it on the mixture trough to put the mixture back in it.
of 19: Make your second mold half exactly as you did the first one, except put the conical model into the top of the hemispherical model before you put the mixture in.
of 19: Also, you'll have to remove the conical model before you can pick up the full molding box.
of 19: After both mold halves are made, put the one with the hole in it on top of the other one to form a complete cannonball mold.
