Destination: Treasure Island Hints
How can I enter the first question's answer?
of 11: Make sure the carved snake's head is set to accept an answer to the first question.
of 11: Point at it and read the text that pops up, then click on the head to move it along if it's set to the wrong question.
of 11: Notice that you, Long John, and Pepita are each standing in front of a row of five numbered buttons.
of 11: Remember that on the buttons, each line represents 5 and each dot represents 1.
of 11: That means your row, read left to right, has buttons for the numbers 2, 8, 9, 11, and 17.
of 11: Long John's row has 1, 3, 9, 12, and 19 (read from his left to his right), and Pepita's row similarly has 2, 3, 11, 14, and 17.
of 11: You answer a question by having each of the three people press one of their buttons.
of 11: The answer to the first question is 39, so you need to have everyone press buttons so that the sum total of the button values is exactly 39.
of 11: There are multiple ways to do this, and any of them will work.
of 11: For instance, 39 = 17 + 19 + 3, so you could have Jim press his 17 button, Long John press his 19 button, and Pepita press her 3 button.
of 11: After you get all three buttons pressed, the tumblers in the center of the table that correspond to the first question will be set.
