General Tips

  • 1 of 7: This is another imported game that ignores standard PC keyboard conventions, such as using the ESC key to access the game's main menu. Instead, right-click the mouse in order to bring up the inventory storage area and some clickable buttons, the top one of which will get you the main menu.
  • 2 of 7: During most of the game, you'll have a long riddle called an enigma that will give you vague rhyming clues as to what your next major goal is. Enigma lines will get crossed out as you complete goals, so refer to the enigma often to see what you're supposed to be working on. (This is much more useful than the "Objectives" button on the inventory screen, which almost always gives you the same useless advice.)
  • 3 of 7: Long John's red parrot will also be helpful in several areas, so always talk to him if he's perched nearby.
  • 4 of 7: Most areas have 360 degrees of panning, meaning you can look all around in every direction, including up and down. Do so in each area you can visit to help you find all the items of interest and exits.
  • 5 of 7: Be sure to read page 10 of the manual to learn about combining and dismantling objects. That's something you'll be doing a lot of in this game. Whenever you get a new object, see if you can take it apart to make other objects. Also, try combining items to see what all new things you can make.
  • 6 of 7: Your storage space in inventory may see inadequate once you start picking up lots of items, but there are several hard-to-see tabs above the storage display, giving you five "pages" of storage space instead of just one. Even if you always pick up and disassemble everything you can, that will be more than enough space to store everything.
  • 7 of 7: There are extremely few places in the game where you can mess up and lose the game. If you ever do, you'll be reset to right before you did whatever you did that was wrong.
