The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal Hints
Estate Sale
1 of 7: You can get this quest by asking Geon Auline about "collector" in his house in Godsreach. He'll ask you to get a Droth Dagger from Arnsa Thendas.
2 of 7: Arnsa is in Thendas Manor, also in Godsreach. There's really not much to this quest besides a disposition check and a chance to be a bit dishonest.
3 of 7: If you look around, you may learn a bit about Arnsa's husband. Do this before talking to her, if you can.
4 of 7: There's an Imperial Legion shield on the floor in her room. If you talk to Arnsa about "estate sale" and then "knew my husband," you can lie and say you knew him from the Legion. If her disposition is high enough, she may just give you the dagger.
5 of 7: Otherwise, you can just try to buy this "particular item" for 600 gold, if your disposition is up around 70. (She'll claim not to know where it is if your disposition is too low.)
6 of 7: Or you could break into one of the locked chests and hope you don't get caught. The dagger's in the one just to the right of the door, with a level-80 lock.
7 of 7: Geon will offer you 800 gold for the dagger when you return it to him. Not much of a reward if you had to buy it for 600 from Arnsa, is it?
