The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal Hints
A Star Is Born
1 of 7: Talk to Meryn Othralas, who's standing just backstage behind the theatre in the Great Bazaar. He'll tell you that you look like an actor who's fallen sick and asks if you want to fill in for the role.
2 of 7: Say yes, and you'll supposedly have 2 minutes to learn the lines of the character Clavides. (I didn't test whether anything bad happened for waiting too long.) Read the book he gives you, but you'll have to give it up before you go on stage.
3 of 7: I wouldn't worry too much about memorizing the entire play -- the game isn't cruel enough to make you memorize the entire play and then act it out again. Also pay more attention to the meaning of the lines than the words itself -- you'll be given a set of choices that may not echo the original text verbatim. (Taking notes in real life is also a valid if slightly cheating option.)
4 of 7: When you feel you're ready, go back to Meryn, and you'll be sent on stage. Stand on your mark on stage, and you'll freeze up and have to pick your lines from a multiple-choice list.
5 of 7: Assuming the choices aren't randomized, and I don't think they are, pick options 1, 3, 2, 3, 1, 2, 1, and 3 in that order.
6 of 7: After the "As I hear are all Telvanni" line (or whatever you flub in its place), an assassin will come at you. Go ahead and defend yourself.
7 of 7: Once the assassin is dead, you can claim his Daedric Wakizashi, plus report back to Meryn for a reward of an Amulet of Verbosity (20-30 bonus to speechcraft) plus up to 2000 gold, depending on how well you "memorized" your lines.
