The Elder Scrolls III: Tribunal Hints
Wood Elf with a Grievance
of 8: You can get this quest from High-Pockets, a wood elf standing just outside the Winged Guar.
of 8: Talk to him about "clay-brained Nord", and he'll tell you that he wants revenge on Holmar, a nord who's thrown him out of the tavern. (He's on the upper level, to be precise.)
of 8: You could fight Holmar for him, but that's probably not the best way to handle this quest.
of 8: One way to solve this is to notice how High-Pockets talks about "Saryoni's Sermons" when you first see him.
of 8: If you have a copy of the book "Saryoni's Sermons" in your inventory when you first talk to High-Pockets, you can use it as a dialogue option. He'll take the book, and the next time you exit and reenter the Godsreach area, you can find him in about the same location with fewer clothes on. Talk to him to get all of his stuff, including the gold and ring you would have gotten for your reward for chasing off Holmar. (A copy of Saryoni's Sermons can be bought from Sanaso Sarothran in the Bazaar's Bookseller shop.)
of 8: If you missed that opportunity, all High-Pockets really wants is for Holmar to leave the tavern.
of 8: If you were persuasive enough, you could probably convince him.
of 8: Get his disposition up to around 70, and you can politely ask Holmar to sober up and leave. In return, High-Pockets will give you a 250 gold reward plus a Ring of Icegrip (which casts some frost damage).
