Ultima IX: Ascension Hints
What should I take with me when I travel?
1 of 4: Leave excess items in and around the Castle in Britain, since you'll be returning there often throughout the game. Things to leave behind might include: Sigils and runes (after the shrines are cleansed), scrolls that you cannot bind into your spellbook until later, extra potions and reagents, books.
2 of 4: Besides wearing your best equipment, your belt should hold your most powerful weapon in each type (sword, bow, staff etc.) for easy arming. Your belt should also hold heal and cure potions (or scrolls).
3 of 4: Take healing, anti-poison, and mana restoration potions. A few heal and cure spell scrolls and a bottle or two of serpentwyne will also be of help. If you have them, take a few offensive scrolls such as lightning bolt, fireball, freeze, etc. to use in case your mana runs low.
4 of 4: Keeping maps and a sextant with you at all times will tell you where you are in the world of Britannia.
