Ultima IX: Ascension Hints
3rd Circle -- Charm
Some creatures are immune to this spell, but on others it is quite effective. A charmed foe will become your ally and will fight alongside you against others who would harm you. You can then kill him with just a few hits. Charm slowly drains your mana supply, so try using it on more difficult foes.
It is possible to charm humans to help you in battle, too. Just be careful that they don't get killed in the process, which would reduce your Karma.
