If Britain is the city of Compassion, why aren't the people very nice?
1 of 4: A number of people, including Lord British and Sarah (the keeper of the Shrine of Compassion), have some information about this.
2 of 4: Speak to everyone you can, and see if you may be able to figure it out.
3 of 4: People only stopped being compassionate when the columns appeared.
4 of 4: The columns are corrupting all the Virtues. Britain, being the city of Compassion, is now feeling anything but compassionate towards its poor and unfortunate. It is probably fair to assume something similar is happening in the other cities as well.
