Ultima IX: Ascension Hints
I can't open the ... door!
of 8: Locked or closed entries (a door or portcullis) may need a key to open. Look for keys in treasure chests, crates, nests, behind spider webs, and on the bodies of slain enemies.
of 8: Remember the keyboard "K" key to zoom closer. This helps examine an area that is hard to see.
of 8: If no key can be found, seek out levers, switches, buttons, wheel valves or floor pressure plates.
of 8: Switches and levers can be found out in the open, under water or even inside (or behind) something else.
of 8: Sometimes the button is a brick in a nearby wall. Look at the walls carefully for a different color, shape or edge.
of 8: If a Sun's Face shield hangs in the room, it may be a target.
of 8: Try shooting an arrow at it.
of 8: In some of the dungeons, opening doors is an integral part of the quest for that particular dungeon. I will try to cover those in more detail in each section.
