On the way to the crossroads room, you will find a corridor patrolled by two Skaarj. If you don't shoot them, you can walk around with them, and look at the contents of the holding cells with them. In one of the cells, the inmates are playing a game, but they will take time out to salute you if you press your nose against their containment field.
