What did I do? -- Neuromancer Rating
of 4: The two rankings in the game, Skill Level and Neuromancer rank, are both affected by the types of missions you do.
of 4: The Neuromancer rating usually changes constantly during the game. It represents your morality by the missions you've done. 'Bad' things include hacking the Government Databases for modifications, whilst 'Good' things are data-destructive in nature (the System Destruction being the mission from which your rating goes up the most :).
of 4: It's far, far harder to be 'Good' than 'Bad', since the 'Bad' missions lower your rating so much compared to the 'Good' missions' raises. Destroying three people's lives will get you from Single Minded to Notorious, while a System Destruction will only lift your rank one category (OK, sometimes two -- barely).
of 4: Besides, the pay from the 'Bad' missions is relatively higher -- in fact, in some part of the game, you'll probably be forced to accept 'Bad' missions, as your rank is just high enough for them but too low for any of the hardest missions.
