Uplink Hints

The beginning

  • 1 of 17: The plot begins to unfold when you get an email from the top Uplink Agent.
  • 2 of 17: He managed to pull off some files and, as a result, was killed.
  • 3 of 17: You'll get the IP of ARC Central Mainframe and an access code (which won't work).
  • 4 of 17: Why not try to hack it?
  • 5 of 17: The message was an auto-send. The agent wrote it one week before it came to you. Count the days.
  • 6 of 17: You should find that there is one log of someone copying something called Revelation-corev0.7 at about that time. Also, the files were deleted so they're not to be found in the File Server.
  • 7 of 17: Track that log and one that's exactly a week ago (week and one day, occasionally). See details in "Tracking".
  • 8 of 17: If you can't track it since you recently destroyed a computer from the trace-path or for some other reason, don't worry. The plot will start anyway
  • 9 of 17: One of these should lead you to the personal computer of the (former) leading Agent. There's Revelation Core.
  • 10 of 17: There are people very interested in that file.
  • 11 of 17: Copy that to your own computer (if you have the space).
  • 12 of 17: Then simply wait.
  • 13 of 17: You'll get a message from ARC.
  • 14 of 17: If you don't want to see the plot, delete it. (Checking this one.)
  • 15 of 17: If you replied to the message, you'll soon get a mission from ARC.
  • 16 of 17: Now you must choose which story arc you want to do, ARC's or Arunmor's.
  • 17 of 17: It's up to you what to do. If you want to side with ARC, ignore the mail from Arunmor and if you want to side with Arunmor, simply send them the first version of Revelation.
