Uplink Hints
Help! I'm being overwhelmed!
of 20: Take it easy. One system at a time.
of 20: You'll have to accept the fact that you can NOT save them all. Do what you can and if you get booted off a system, move to the next one.
of 20: After a while (15 minutes), you'll receive a message from Arunmor, telling you that the ARC agents have been captured. Now Revelation will spread much slower, giving you a chance.
of 20: After this there should be no problems dealing with this mission.
of 20: There are also two other ways of solving this mission. One is an extension of the first, 'honest' way and the other is downright cheating.
of 20: The second way only takes preparation.
of 20: Pre-admin (crack the admin password, then disconnect) all the Internal Services Machines, or enough to make your point. Start doing this right after 'ARCInfiltration'. Leave them in your list but if you want to do other missions, take them off the map. Put them back on the map, and you'll see straight away what systems are taken (you'll see an ADMIN-circle around a red square). This will save you valuable time as you won't have to fiddle with the Tracker.
of 20: The third way is decidedly dishonest, close to cheating.
of 20: The Revelation virus first remains a few minutes in a system, then moves on, right? This is the only way that it spreads, right? Well, that's not exactly the case.
of 20: Revelation does spread by itself, but most of the new outbreaks are made by members of ARC.
of 20: Why not hamper them?
of 20: The infections come from their mainframe.
of 20: Destroy it.
of 20: The fastest way of destroying a mainframe is using viruses.
of 20: You should have one available.
of 20: You received it when you began the plot.
of 20: Use Revelation v1.0 to kill their mainframe. Poetic justice. Then just de-infect the few systems that remain. There won't be any new outbreaks...
of 20: ...except when the Federal Agents crash into ARC. You'll get an email when this happens. Then there'll be two or three infected systems (which I don't understand :)). This should be an easy task.
of 20: Final note: You'll get the mission "done" when the last Revelation drops. That will be ARC's mainframe since it's only v1.0. Just click on FAST speed to make it leave.
of 20: That was the last mission in the Arunmor side. Happy hacking!
