Uplink Hints

I keep failing!

  • 1 of 9: This is probably the most difficult mission in the game. Work hard, work fast. Stick to Internal Services Machines and remember to turn the security off.
  • 2 of 9: Also, if Faith is higher version than Revelation, succeeding will become harder, as the big R won't spread as easily (if at all).
  • 3 of 9: There's also an easier way to do this mission.
  • 4 of 9: To complete the mission in the 'easy' way, you need to understand how Revelation actually works.
  • 5 of 9: The Revelation v3.0 has 'generations'. As it infects a system, it'll be on a few minutes, then jump to another system _in the same subnet_ -- i.e., from Internal Services Machines Revelation'll jump to Mainframes and then stop there. This is what makes the mission so hard -- after four minutes, your first generation will run out. You will almost never have enough servers to crash the Internet -- unless you're very fast.
  • 6 of 9: So, you need to work your way past this.
  • 7 of 9: To complete this mission, you will need to have a certain amount of servers under the influence of Revelation.
  • 8 of 9: It doesn't really matter what version you use.
  • 9 of 9: Revelation v1.0 may not jump from system to system but it stays within a system far longer than v3.0. Thus, you'll have 15 minutes to infect the required systems -- which will _stay_ infected (most of the time). This will make the mission far, far easier.
