Uplink Hints
Password protection
1 of 7: This is the most common way of protecting data.
2 of 7: In most situations, you won't have a legitimate user handle to your target, and even if you would its security level wouldn't be sufficient to do what you want to do.
3 of 7: Thus, you'll have to work your way past the protection.
4 of 7: There are two crackers available. A Dictionary Hacker and a Password Breaker.
5 of 7: A Dictionary Hacker may work a bit faster, but if the password is not in the dictionary, you won't get in.
6 of 7: Most of the time you'll be using the Password Breaker. It's reasonably fast and later on positively rapid.
7 of 7: Remember that a Password Breaker will always crack the 'admin' access if you click on the "name" field. If, however, you type a username there and click on the 'password' section, it'll crack the password for that user.
