Uplink Hints

Weird Systems (AKA Easter Eggs)

  • 1 of 14: There are several easter eggs in the game.
  • 2 of 14: The easter eggs are mostly machines.
  • 3 of 14: Explore the game, you'll find them.
  • 4 of 14: The InterNIC is an excellent place for exploring.
  • 5 of 14: There are four types of "regular" servers. Every corporation has at least two servers listed in the InterNIC: X Internal Services Machine and X Public Access server. There are also several banks (about seven per game) and Access Terminals.
  • 6 of 14: As you explore, you'll find that ten systems do not match these terms.
  • 7 of 14: Five of these are government-run operations. Five are not.
  • 8 of 14: The Government-run systems are the Databases (Global Criminal, International Social Security and International Academic), the International Stock Market and the InterNIC itself.
  • 9 of 14: Check the other five.
  • 10 of 14: The Andromeda Corporation Public Access Terminal is a place that has rather a lot to do with the plot. You'll probably come across it in few points.
  • 11 of 14: The OCP Remote Monitoring System -- RoboCop, anyone?
  • 12 of 14: The Uplink Credits Machine -- Just what it says, credits ;)
  • 13 of 14: The Steve Jackson Games Server -- Don't worry, they haven't marked your IP or anything -- the SJGS has really been shut down by the Government once -- check elsewhere for details, though.
  • 14 of 14: The Protovision Games Server -- Your password_breaker or the dictionary_hacker won't work with this machine. Hint: Watch lots and lots of hacker movies ;)
