Handling the Screen
The main screen consists of six sections (clockwise from the upper left corner): The Time Manager, World Map, Information Screen, Mission info/Emails, the Gateway Manager and the Server list.
Time Manager -- Four buttons with which you can accelerate or stop the game time. Very useful when waiting for assignments or going for a quick break.
World Map -- Click here to see the World Map. You make all non-direct connections here. Systems you have user access to are shown with broken circles around them. Admin access systems are full-circled.
Information Screen -- This screen will be active only when you are reading Mission Pages or Emails or viewing the state of any and all of your systems.
Mission info/Emails -- This section will contain all your 'incoming' posts. They are either letters (Emails) or Mission pages.
Gateway Manager -- This is your main access to the world. Six (seven later on) buttons with which to control your Gateway. The buttons are (from left to right): Run Application, Gateway information, Memory management, Personal status, Financial details, Send email (and ConnectionAnalysis). They are pretty much what they sound like ;)
The Server list -- Any and all servers you gain missions to will be added here. The 'X' button will delete them from your list (do NOT delete the InterNIC or the Uplink Internal Services Machine -- everything else you can do without), while the 'view' button will simply inform if they are visible in the world map.
