Uru: The Path of the Shell Hints

There's a Linking Book and a Bahro Stone next to a machine. What do I do?

  • 1 of 15: Try both!
  • 2 of 15: Search the Bahro Cave carefully.  Do you see anything familiar?
  • 3 of 15: If not, explore Er'cana's complex a little more.
  • 4 of 15: Specifically, look at the burners.
  • 5 of 15: Each burner has a control panel with three symbols.
  • 6 of 15: A drawing of each of those pictures is on the walls of the Bahro Cave, surrounded by marks.
  • 7 of 15: Each drawing has a different number of marks around it.  What could they mean?
  • 8 of 15: Count the markings for each one.  Now you have a symbol and a corresponding number.
  • 9 of 15: Think about where the symbols come from -- the burners.  How could you use the numbers with the burners?
  • 10 of 15: Examine the burners' control panel.  Each symbol has a slider next to it for you to give it a value.
  • 11 of 15: A value that you've just obtained.
  • 12 of 15: For each symbol, move the slider up to the appropriate value according to the number of marks surrounding its picture in the Bahro Cave.
  • 13 of 15: On the burners' control panel, each red mark is separated by an increment of 1 and each black mark is separated by 5.
  • 14 of 15: Set the first slider to 40 (8th black mark), the second slider to 30 (6th black mark) and the third slider to 20 (4th black mark).
  • 15 of 15: Press the button to turn on the burners.
