Uru: To D'ni Hints

After Calibrating the Great Zero

  • 1 of 17: You've explored the D'ni cavern and you've found and calibrated the Great Zero.  Now what?  Think back, are there any questions raised during your exploration that so far have gone unanswered?
  • 2 of 17: There should be one question still looming -- a question raised by reading Dr. Douglas Sharper's 2004 journal in his office.
  • 3 of 17: Dr. Sharper mentioned that Zandi had told him a set of numbers - 2175; 58; -81.
  • 4 of 17: At this point, you should recognize these numbers as a set of Great Zero coordinates.  They stand for 2175 toran, 58 distance, and -81 elevation.
  • 5 of 17: Search the cavern for these coordinates, using other reference points (such as the GZMs you found earlier) to make the search easier and faster.
  • 6 of 17: As you search the cavern, notice the blue line occasionally sweeping past you.  That's the Great Zero.
  • 7 of 17: 2175; 58; -81 is the very end of Tokotah Alley.
  • 8 of 17: Here you are at Zandi's coordinates, but nothing is here!  Be patient, and keep and eye and ear out for anything that might happen...
  • 9 of 17: ...when the Great Zero's blue line sweeps past you.
  • 10 of 17: When the blue line passes Zandi's coordinates, an image of a shell will materialize at that location.
  • 11 of 17: Don't be cautious, dive into it!  Jump into the shell before it disappears.
  • 12 of 17: After linking, you'll find yourself in a room with some interesting things and a door leading to a giant black shaft.  What is there to do here?  Maybe some reading could reveal the answer.
  • 13 of 17: Notice that Dr. Watson's journal is lying nearby.
  • 14 of 17: The journal is a chronicle of Dr. Watson's journey - strikingly similar to your own, except he's one step ahead.  As a result, he left you with some advice.
  • 15 of 17: "And you, friend, (if you have not already done so) should do the same. Leap without truly understanding what lies beneath, and let a glimpse of the future rise up to meet you."
  • 16 of 17: A leap of faith.  Go outside to the shaft.  Look down.  It's dark.  You can't see what lies beneath.
  • 17 of 17: Walk, run, jump, whatever you want -- end up falling down the shaft into the darkness below.
