Uru: Ages Beyond Myst Hints
How do I read D'ni numbers?
1 of 6: There aren't any D'ni numbers in the desert, so you won't need to worry about them there. However, they do appear throughout most of the other ages in this game.
2 of 6: Including your Relto age.
3 of 6: Take a look at the book on the right side of your library -- it's the only one on that particular shelf.
4 of 6: And notice that the pages seem to be numbered.
5 of 6: Each of the numbers looks roughly the same -- with two horizontal lines and two vertical lines, forming a sort of box. (Although the horizontal lines are longer than the vertical ones.) The only difference is what is inside the "box" -- and that's what makes each of the numbers. Read ahead to find out what the numbers are.
6 of 6: 1: This has an additional vertical line inside, making the entire shape look a bit like the Roman numeral III.
2: This has a half circle on the left side, making the number look like the letters "DI" with vertical bars on top and bottom.
3: This has a "less than sign" ("<") inside, making the number look like the letters "KI", again with vertical bars.
4: This has an upside down "L" in the bottom right corner.
5: This has a single *horizontal* line in the middle.
6-9: Take the symbol for the number that's five less (e.g., for 6, look at the shape for 1), and add a horizontal line across the middle. So the shape for the number 6 has a cross or plus sign ("+") inside the "box."
