Uru: Ages Beyond Myst Hints

There's some kind of elevator in the main cavern. How do I operate it?

  • 1 of 10: You're not going to be able to operate that elevator when you first arrive in this age.  Try solving some other puzzles first.
  • 2 of 10: It might help if you found the power source for some of the devices here and turned it on.
  • 3 of 10: But that itself doesn't seem to be enough -- maybe another seemingly unrelated puzzle will also help you here.
  • 4 of 10: Try to figure out what the bucket at the end of the walkway outside does, and then solve that puzzle until you've gotten somewhere new.
  • 5 of 10: Take a look to your left as you're walking away from the buckets toward the rest of the room where drops you.
  • 6 of 10: You may notice a platform here with several yellow and blue buttons.
  • 7 of 10: Try pressing those buttons to see what they do.
  • 8 of 10: Or maybe you need to look at the floor in this area first.
  • 9 of 10: There are several foot pedals on either side of the platform.
  • 10 of 10: Press either of these petals, and you will have unlocked the elevator.  The blue button on the elevator itself is the up button, and the yellow button is the down button.  The blue button outside of the elevator is the call button -- but you'll probably only need to use this if you use linking books to travel, rather than the elevator itself.
