1 of 4: Of course, running, rather than walking, will help you a bit here.
2 of 4: You may also come back to raise the cylinder at any time you choose -- so you can keep trying again and again if you need to.
3 of 4: And you may also want to plan ahead a bit, by figuring out what you want to try before raising the cylinder.
4 of 4: Finally, the system will stay on until the cylinder falls all the way to the floor again. This means that you can go back and "catch" the cylinder as it's falling, to keep things alive. In other words, power the system up, take 10 seconds to do something, go back to the cylinder to raise all the way, and continue solving this puzzle. Beyond that, this puzzle is all just a matter of timing -- keep trying, and you should get it eventually.
