Where can I find some string?
1 of 3: There are really very few places that items can be stored aboard the capsule.
2 of 3: The most obvious is the cupboard above Barbicane's body.
3 of 3: The raffia (middle top) is a kind of twine that should work. (You can take as many as three at a time; the supply, however, is unlimited, and you can return for more later, if necessary.)
