Voyage Hints

Could you explain that in more detail?

  • 1 of 14: No matter what kind of plant is blocking Ardan's path, one of the other plants has power over -- or can subdue -- that plant.
  • 2 of 14: For example, in one of the diagrams on the lowest ledge, Ardan discovered that a blue plant can subdue a purple plant.
  • 3 of 14: Thus, if a purple plant were barring Ardan's way, perhaps he could overcome it with a blue plant.
  • 4 of 14: But he can't just uproot one of the blue plants, and carry it around with him!
  • 5 of 14: If Mohammed won't go to the mountain...
  • 6 of 14: Perhaps he could bring a "representative" of the dominating plant, and use it to subdue the "blocker".
  • 7 of 14: All of the plants produce fruit.
  • 8 of 14: Some of the plants' fruit is available to Ardan immediately upon his arrival on the moon.
  • 9 of 14: Other fruit will be available as he progresses through his exploration.
  • 10 of 14: However, just bringing the fruit of a dominating plant to a "blocking" plant does not work.  It's the plant itself -- not just its fruit -- that subdues another plant.
  • 11 of 14: Looks like you'll have to go a step further, and get into some horticulture.
  • 12 of 14: Certainly, you could use the fruit of any of the plants as "seedlings", and grow a new version of that plant!
  • 13 of 14: So now, if you needed to bring a blue plant to confront (and subdue) a purple plant, you could obtain some blue fruit, and then plant it, and get a small, portable version of a blue plant!
  • 14 of 14: You can now carry this "mini-plant" in your inventory, and use it when you require it -- such as on plants that are blocking your path.
