Voyage Hints

There's another door to the left with another gear mechanism!

  • 1 of 16: Looks like you've got another door that's "a challenge".  You can probably use a similar principal as last time.
  • 2 of 16: Return to the altar at the bottom of the stairs.
  • 3 of 16: What happens when you reset the colors to match the colors on the plateau?
  • 4 of 16: Nothing.  That gear won't work.  Oh, that's too bad!  Ardan says "Another solution exists".  Apparently, the two sets of gears operate on different "codes".
  • 5 of 16: The first door was fairly simple -- the code was just the order of colors on the plateau.  What alternative could be used for this second door?
  • 6 of 16: There really is no clue in the game, so you'll have to "intuit" a bit here.
  • 7 of 16: If the first gear used a very simple solution (i.e., matching colors with the plateau), then this one probably isn't much more difficult.
  • 8 of 16: The code for the first gear required setting the colors to match the plateau in a clockwise order.
  • 9 of 16: The reason for the colors being in this order, if you recall, was to keep "antagonistic" plants apart from each other.  This arrangement allowed them to live in harmony.
  • 10 of 16: Is there another arrangement of the five colors that would accomplish the same thing?
  • 11 of 16: How about trying the same colors, but in a different order?
  • 12 of 16: What if you set the colors in the same order, but going counter-clockwise?
  • 13 of 16: In other words, you would end up with a mirror image of the original gear.
  • 14 of 16: Starting with purple at the top again, the colors going *counter-clockwise* would be: purple, red, blue, yellow, and green.
  • 15 of 16: With these colors set, the second blue light bar goes on, and the new gear can be taken into inventory.
  • 16 of 16: Use the new gear on the second door mechanism.
