How can I get the fan running?
of 26: There are two requirements to getting the fan to run, and supply air to the organ.
of 26: The first is that the air valve must be set to the "open" (vertical) position.
of 26: But the fan is in an underground cavern. And if there is no good supply of air, the fan can't operate properly.
of 26: You'll need to find a way to open up an air passage to the outside, and get some fresh air to the fan.
of 26: What about that stairs leading up and out of the fan room?
of 26: Initially, you can't go up the stairs. Something seems to be barring the way.
of 26: But there is some kind of panel to the left of the stairs.
of 26: Perhaps this could help. Click on the panel to see a close-up view of two levers side-by-side, with a locking bar across the top of the panel.
of 26: Leaving this close-up view, and then coming back, causes the puzzle to reset to its fully locked position.
of 26: You'll have to find a way to remove that locking bar, and open the control panel underneath.
of 26: What happens when you click on either of the levers?
of 26: The two levers move the locking bar right and left.
of 26: Repeated clicks on the same lever change the direction of movement.
of 26: The bar cannot be moved to the right beyond a certain point.
of 26: It must need to be moved all the way to the left to unlock the panel.
of 26: What happens when you alternate between the two levers?
of 26: Both of them work similarly -- that is, they move the bar right or left, alternatively.
of 26: So how can you move the bar all the way to the left?
of 26: Start with either lever, and click it enough times (it will go through a cycle of right-left movements) so that it is at the left-most position of its cycle.
of 26: Switch to the other lever, and do the same thing. Click several times, observing the cycle of right-left movements, until the bar is at the left-most position of that cycle.
of 26: Continue switching back and forth between the two levers, each time leaving a lever and moving to the other when the bar is as far left as that lever can move it at the moment.
of 26: By doing this, you should slowly be moving the lever to the left, until it finally reaches its "unlocked" position, and the panel door opens, revealing yet another valve-like control.
of 26: This control shows the symbol for "air", and only has two positions.
of 26: When you click on the valve, what happens?
of 26: You should hear a grinding sound, and there will now be an opening at the top of the stairs, making the stairs active.
of 26: With the stairway open, and the original air valve (across the room, by the water valve) open (set to the vertical position), the fan will now run.
