Tips for selling items

  • 1 of 10: Not everything can be sold.  For some objects, Ardan will decide not to sell (usually because you will need that item later in the game).
  • 2 of 10: The "barter" systems operates on the basis of "supply and demand".  If you try to sell an item that is already in the Distributor, you won't get much for it.
  • 3 of 10: If you sell something to the dignitary that is not in the Distributor, you may get a fairly good price... for the first occurrence of that item.
  • 4 of 10: But if you try to sell another instance of the same item, you will see the "offer price" drop -- often dramatically.
  • 5 of 10: The key to getting a good price is to make sure that what you're selling is "valuable", based on its non-existence in the Distributor.
  • 6 of 10: Some items in your inventory are not replaceable.  The game may allow you to sell them (as they are not needed later, or you have finished with that item), but it will then be gone.
  • 7 of 10: Other items may be replaceable -- possibly unlimited.  Fruit is a good example.  You can always obtain as much fruit as you will ever need.  However, the more "common" an item, the lower price it will command.  And since you can only carry three of any single item, you will spend a lot of time going back and forth -- gathering, then selling, the items -- before you will raise your total of lunar coins significantly.
  • 8 of 10: How could you combine the above information -- about unlimited, yet unique, items -- to get the most out of your bartering?
  • 9 of 10: Here's one example: since the fruit is unlimited, that would be a good resource to start with.  But it's common -- by itself.  However, if you plant fruit seedlings, they are worth more.  In fact, if you make hybrids, they are worth more yet.  And you can make many more unique hybrids than there are simple types of fruits.  So one way to accumulate lunar coins in large quantities would be to create many different hybrids of fruit seedlings -- making sure the combinations are all different -- and sell them to the dignitary.
  • 10 of 10: Try to be creative.  And if Ardan refuses to sell something -- take note!  It's most surely something that will be important -- and required -- later.
