Voyage Hints
What is the purpose of the screen centered in front of the dignitary?
of 9: This screen is used as an aid to learning the written Selenite language.
of 9: Learning Selenite is one of the things that Ardan will need to do, as he will need to communicate with other Selenites in his pursuit to return to Earth.
of 9: Clicking on the screen begins a "test", administered by the Selenite dignitary, to see how many of the written Selenite ideograms Ardan is familiar with.
of 9: You can take the test purely by repetitive guessing...
of 9: ... or you can explore a bit, until you have encountered most (if not all) of the ideograms, and have a better understanding of their meaning.
of 9: As each ideogram flashes on the screen, you have a multiple-choice opportunity to say what it represents.
of 9: Many of the ideograms are generic enough (e.g., water, fire, air) to be intuited; others can either be guessed, or learned later.
of 9: Once you begin the test, you can choose to terminate it at any time, or the dignitary will continue to administer the test, going back over wrong answers, giving you a chance to get them all correct.
of 9: At the end of the test, all ideograms will have been added to Ardan's "Ideograms" list in the inventory screen.
