Voyage Hints
What do I do with the purified material?
of 12: At each step, don't forget to go to your inventory, and select the item, and read more about it.
of 12: In the case of Zoobro (the result of purifying the purple and red compote), the inventory description includes the words "slippery" and "blend with an excipient".
of 12: What the heck is an excipient? According to the dictionary, it means "An inert or slightly active substance used in preparing remedies..."
of 12: What fairly inert substance can you think of, that you have already encountered?
of 12: Check the formula once again. There is a picture of an alien (well, an alien's head), with something coming out of it. What does this image remind you of?
of 12: Think back to before you pacified the various aliens by feeding them. What did they do to you?
of 12: Most of them probably spit at you.
of 12: And the spit never disappeared.
of 12: (Ironically, in this case, the "excipient" is an "expectorant" -- spit!)
of 12: If you have not already acquired some of the "alien spit" (a.k.a. "viscous secretion"), you'll need to get some. (Fortunately, it is another non-expiring substance. If you find one puddle of it, you can take more than one "secretion".)
of 12: Combine the Zoobro (the output from the Purifier) with the "alien spit" in your inventory combining tray, based on the formula on the Purifier panel.
of 12: The resultant compound is -- grease! Just as the ideograms indicate, by applying it to two "stuck" gears, to get them running smoothly. Use this same approach to each of the formulas, when you need to create any of the pictured compounds.
