How can Ardan "complete his investigations"?
of 28: The investigations that the Supreme Ruler refers to are the items in the "storyboard" that has been building throughout the game.
of 28: Early in the game -- while Ardan is still inside the capsule -- numerous items were added to the storyboard, as you accomplished various tasks in preparation for landing on the moon.
of 28: However, several squares may still be blank -- i.e., the story is "unfinished".
of 28: At any point in the game, you can see the status of the storyboard by going to the inventory screen, and clicking on the "Investigation" button in the upper left. That will bring up the storyboard, as it currently stands.
of 28: Look through the storyboard (you can even get details on any individual square in the story by clicking on that square), and see if you can determine what is missing.
of 28: Most of the squares should already be filled in, as long as you've accomplished the tasks necessary to get to this point in the game.
of 28: However, there are probably at least 3 squares remaining (two that are together, about 2/3 of the way through the story, and the final square).
of 28: These are all linked, and require the same resource to "solve" them.
of 28: What is missing form the story?
of 28: Perhaps another question to ask is: Where was Ardan during the missing parts of the story?
of 28: The missing pieces represent a point in time when Ardan was still unconscious.
of 28: So he would be totally unaware of what took place at that point.
of 28: Thus, his investigation will require that the information be filled in from another source.
of 28: But his two companions -- the only two people that were part of that story -- are both dead.
of 28: What other resource could Ardan use, to gather information about what happened during that period of time?
of 28: Was there anything else living in the capsule at that moment?
of 28: The only other thing accompanying the three men was the rooster. But how does that help?
of 28: If only Ardan could communicate with the rooster.
of 28: Too bad Doctor Doolittle isn't around -- or else he could "talk to the animals".
of 28: What about if Ardan could do the same thing?
of 28: If only there was a way he could understand "animal talk".
of 28: Didn't the Selenite dignitary on level 4 indicate that *he* had a way to understand creatures other than Selenites?
of 28: He used an apparatus that was basically a large conch shell, amplified by a kind of "trumpet". He called it a "Belbaab conch".
of 28: If only Ardan had something similar.
of 28: In fact, he wouldn't even need the "trumpet"; the dignitary only used that, so that he wouldn't have to hold the conch shell to his ear.
of 28: Once you have a clear Belbaab conch, and it is applied to Ardan, it will be added to his "competencies" (shown just below the image of Ardan, on the inventory screen).
of 28: With that new competency, return to the capsule, and click on the rooster.
of 28: The resultant dialogue will complete the storyboard -- and Ardan's "investigation" of the events surrounding the death of his companions.
