Voyage Hints

7. Breathable atmosphere

  • 1 of 11: On the trip to the moon, Ardan produced a breathable oxygen-rich atmosphere within the capsule by burning potash.
  • 2 of 11: However, there is no more potash, nor is there a way to produce any on the moon.  (Besides which, it looks like the apparatus that was used to control the production of oxygen has been damaged beyond repair.)  Another solution will be necessary.
  • 3 of 11: In some manner, Ardan is going to need to find another source of oxygen -- of "air" -- that he can take with him for his trip back to Earth.
  • 4 of 11: Most of the "earthly scientific approaches" are either not available, or won't work for Ardan here.  He'll need to find something else -- something more...  "lunar".
  • 5 of 11: Where do you recall seeing anything related to "air" during your explorations?
  • 6 of 11: Certainly there was the air that was necessary to bring to the organ in the cavern beneath the plateau.  However, Ardan can't take that with him.
  • 7 of 11: Yet that did, at least, provide you with a Selenite ideogram for "air", which might help in other places.
  • 8 of 11: Where else have you seen the ideogram for "air"?
  • 9 of 11: Have you explored all of the formulas that can be created by the Purifier?
  • 10 of 11: One of the formulas (the first one on the right panel) seems to be a formula that results in the same ideogram -- the one meaning "air".
  • 11 of 11: It would appear, then, that Ardan might be able to manufacture some breathable compound, using this formula and the Purifier.
