Voyage Hints

Tell me the easier way.

  • 1 of 11: Look to the left side of the chart, on the wall.
  • 2 of 11: There is a key slot, indicating the need for a level "2" key (two dots).
  • 3 of 11: Keys are used throughout the game to gain access to secured areas of the environment, or provide help on particularly difficult puzzles.
  • 4 of 11: In this case, it's the latter.
  • 5 of 11: The most difficult part of this puzzle (for most people) will be reproducing the various tone patterns that are sounded back by each of the three aliens, as you bring them "into the fold".
  • 6 of 11: Even with a good ear, it is difficult to make the transition from an audible sound, to one of the many buttons on the organ (especially when one of them -- the right-most one -- isn't even in the correct order!)
  • 7 of 11: If you have obtained a level "2" key, you can place it in the key slot, and a green light will turn on.
  • 8 of 11: With the green light on, the only thing you will need to know to press on the organ is the first two colored buttons for each of the three aliens.
  • 9 of 11: After you do that, what happens?
  • 10 of 11: Whenever an alien produces a tone pattern, and you are expected to reproduce it, the buttons of the organ will light up, one by one -- in exactly the correct order that you must push them!!  In other words, using a level "2" key on the organ "gives away" the answer to the puzzle -- although you still have to go through the process of pushing all of the buttons for all of the steps for all of the aliens.
  • 11 of 11: And one last tip, if you're going to take the "easy way", using the level "2" key.  Since you don't really need to listen to the alien's response (because the lighted keys will give you your notes), each time the alien sound pattern begins, just press any key, and it will terminate immediately, and you can proceed with your response.
