Inventory Objects
Always Pick up Everything and Anything, Everywhere... even if you don't know what it does or where it will be used. (Every item in this game has a purpose.)
To read a document (newspaper, etc.) you've picked up, try left-clicking on it in inventory. (Some things cannot be read.)
Locked things (doors, closets, chests, etc.) aren't always meant to be opened, so don't expect to find a key to every locked place.
