How can I solve the Color Plate Puzzle?
  • 1 of 10: Have you found all of the pieces?
  • 2 of 10: In order to work the puzzle, you'll need some colored tiles.
  • 3 of 10: Now that you have all the pieces, click on the floor again. Pull up the plate example, if it is not already there. Click the tiles on the face of the puzzle.
  • 4 of 10: You have 4 colored tiles to work with -- 2 triangles and 2 circles. As they first appear, the triangles are red and blue and the circles are yellow and cyan, from top to bottom. The color of any tile can be changed by picking it up (left click) and rotating it (right click). The points of the triangles move up or down as their colors change.
  • 5 of 10: As you play with the tiles, you'll notice right away that they are most similar to colored lenses. As you lay them on top of each other, the colors change in areas you may have not intended. The order you lay them on the board is important. Also, specific tiles *must* be placed in specific places.
  • 6 of 10: If you're stuck, get in-game hints by pressing your F1 keyboard key. The hints are really very good and will nudge you along towards the solution. There are 14 hints in all, with the last being the solution.
  • 7 of 10: If you still can't seem to get it right, you may be using the wrong tiles in the wrong places.
  • 8 of 10: To solve it, refer to my graphic drawings below. If the colors do not look like mine when you place each piece, you have chosen the wrong one somewhere. When you think you have it right, click the cone in the center of the "eye." (Keep reading if you need more help.)
  • 9 of 10: If it still doesn't work, restore to an earlier game and begin this puzzle from scratch. Change the colors before you place them like this -- Top left Red triangle to Yellow; Bottom left Blue triangle to Red; Top right Yellow circle to Cyan; Bottom right Cyan circle to Green.
  • 10 of 10: Place the tiles in this order onto their correct spots: Cyan circle at top; Yellow triangle at bottom; Red triangle at top; Green circle at bottom.
