Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness Hints

Mission 4: Assault on Hillsbrad

  • Mission Objectives:

    - Destroy Hillsbrad

    Start off normally by building more farms, Peons, a Barracks, and a Lumber Mill.  You should have about 5 Peons doing work.  Take your Destroyer to explore the surrounding waters.  Make sure to have at least two Guard Towers at various points over your village, and Grunts established everywhere as well.  The enemy will send over Transports constantly, so be prepared.  When that's accomplished, build a Shipyard and then a Tanker so you can put an Oil Platform on the neighboring Oil Patch.  If you want to, build a Refinery closer to the Oil Patch, but you don't need to.  Make a Foundry as well.   Now, build a total of 4 Destroyers, and seek out all enemy Destroyers in the water (as usual, upgrade everything you can on the ships via the Foundry before you get into sea battle).

    Once you are sure you are rid of them, head toward the enemy coast (upper-left part of map) and attack everything you can.  Pay attention to destroying Transports and killing Archers that will try and attack.  Since you destroyed their Shipyard, as well as their Transports, your base will be safe.  Make 2 Transports, and make more Grunts to fill up these two, then send the Transports to Hillsbrad.  You should be able to take the entire village out.   If it fails (it shouldn't, but if it does) take your Transports back and make another raiding party to take them out.
