Catapult

  • The Catapult is a must for any defensive AND offensive group.  In a defensive line, a Catapult will fire at the first enemy it sees, and will usually over-shoot it.  BUT, the blast will hit the area right after the first enemy, killing anything there.  If the enemy sends a bunch of their troops, that one blast can usually take out one or two of them.  Plus, an enemy Archer will stop about 4 or 5 units away from your defensive line, so you can position a catapult so that as soon as the archer stops, the Catapult will fire and incinerate the archer.  On offense, a Catapult can easily kill a tower without getting hurt itself.  But beware, the range of a Catapult is only 1 more unit than the range of a tower, so if you have anything in front of the Catapult, it will get killed.  The minimum range of a Catapult is 3, so make sure you guard them well because if an enemy is within 2 units of the catapult, you will not be able to hit him.  Always guard a Catapult with at least a Troll, and an Ogre if you can.
