The Witcher Hints

Where can I find Leuvaarden's friend?

  • 1 of 11: Note: You can find Leuvaarden inside the Country Inn during the day.
  • 2 of 11: Well, he told you that his friend went looking in a cave -- there's two of them on the map.
  • 3 of 11: The one you're looking for is the one nearer to Vizima's walls. Head across the bridge right outside of the Village, and head down to the left. You'll eventually run into the entrance.
  • 4 of 11: Head inside the cave. This is actually a pretty tough area -- you'll have to kill about 6 Echinopsae, usually with a few attacking you at once. You might need to use a Swallow potion to survive -- it's doable without one, though, depending on your level.
  • 5 of 11: Go around killing all the monsters and searching their remains. One of their remains will contain the bones of Leuvaarden's friend.
  • 6 of 11: Bring them back to him, and he'll request you bury his friend.
  • 7 of 11: So go ask the Reverend about it, and he'll offer you the use of the run-down crypt in the Chapel. Well, better than nothing.
  • 8 of 11: Head into the church and downstairs, and put the bones in the crypt.
  • 9 of 11: Now, for no real obvious reason at all, the King of the Wild Hunt will appear and babble on about destiny, eventually leaving the wraith of the dead Witcher Leo to fight you.
  • 10 of 11: Use Fast Style on him, and he'll die pretty quickly. Be sure to loot his corpse for a red meteorite, used for upgrading your sword.
  • 11 of 11: Finally, head back to Leuvaarden to claim your reward. Note that if you did this after everyone disappeared in this chapter, you can still find Leuvaarden again later in chapter two, at the Dike.
