The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Hints
How can I use stealth mode?
1 of 6: It can optionally be used to sneak by guards or sneak-attack them to avoid fights or make them easier. If you find doing that to be too hard, you can skip it and fight the guards openly.
2 of 6: If you'd prefer to sneak, the first thing to note is that the torches mounted on the walls will make it very difficult to go unseen. Whenever you get near a torch, use it to extinguish it.
3 of 6: Note that you can use an extinguished torch again to relight it, but that's never useful. Be careful not to accidentally relight a torch when you're trying to open a door that's next to it, attack a guard, or something like that.
4 of 6: You can start putting stealthy techniques to use as soon as you enter stealth mode. Put out the torch that's at the top of the stairs, then open the door that's next to it.
5 of 6: That'll get the attention of the guard at the other end of the room, but he won't see you right away. Quickly move forward and into the open cell on the left, then draw your weapon and get ready to sneak-attack the guard as he walks by.
6 of 6: The other nearby guard will probably come to investigate the first guard's death, and you may able to repeat the sneak-attack routine on him. If not, quickly whack him to death before he can do you much damage.
