The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Hints
So how do I get to whatever the runic key opens?
of 10: Use the last two clues of Baltimore's directions.
of 10: The first one says to go right to see someone "in plight."
of 10: Return to the three-way path split area and take the path that starts to the right of the wooden idol.
of 10: You'll soon come to the camp of a friendly troll. He'll talk to you when you approach him, but the important conversation options regarding his plight all have to do with the "Where Is Triss Merigold?" quest, not this one.
of 10: Baltimore's final clue says something about a drowned soul.
of 10: Go south from the troll camp until you encounter a couple of harpies, then keep going south to a path split.
of 10: Go right (west) from the path split to find a large clearing with a shipwreck in it. There are no skeletons around, so the ship itself must be the "drowned soul."
of 10: The final clue also says that at noon, the drowned soul's shadow will point at your goal.
of 10: If you meditate until noon, you'll find that the ship's shadow "points" to a vine-overgrown spot a short way directly SW of the front of the ship.
of 10: Push through the vines (or burn them away with the Igni sign) to find the door that the runic key unlocks. (Note that you can find and unlock the door at any time. There's no need to wait until noon.)
