The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Hints
How does the fist fighting minigame work?
1 of 5: After you get a close-up view of your character and your opponent, watch closely for on-screen prompts for the W, A, S, and D keys to appear.
2 of 5: The key prompts will appear one at a time, and only briefly. You'll need to press the indicated key before it disappears in order to hit your opponent instead of him hitting you.
3 of 5: The places where the key prompts appear are widely spaced, but at least each prompt only appears in one particular spot. For instance, the W prompt will always appear near the top center, and the S prompt will always appear near the bottom.
4 of 5: Sometimes a second key prompt will appear right after you press the key for the previous prompt, so watch for that.
5 of 5: I found it very helpful to use both hands for pressing the keys. I had my left thumb on the A key, my left index finger on the W key, my right index finger on the S key, and my right middle finger on the D key. Once I got used to that arrangement, it was easy to hit the keys quickly when prompts appeared.
